About URF

The Ukrainian Refugee Foundation (URF) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 2022 to support Ukrainians whose lives have been upended by war — from families and children to volunteers, medics, defenders, and abandoned animals.

Working at a personal scale, URF delivers urgent, human-centered aid that complements larger institutions through fast, flexible, and highly accountable action. Guided by the belief that small acts of care spark powerful change, URF helps restore dignity and hope across Ukraine.

“Small enough to care. Strong enough to act.”

We are proud of our history and of our commitment to financial transparency. Over the past three years, URF’s efficiency has strengthened significantly, with program delivery rising to 95%. This is possible because our teams are volunteer-run, contributing more than 8,200 hours in the U.S. alone. This efficiency keeps URF financially steady, with healthy operating margins and short-term reserves rebuilt after early spending on evacuations and emergency relief, giving us the flexibility to stay focused on delivering aid. URF carries no long-term debt and only minimal current liabilities, ensuring that donor support moves quickly and effectively to those who need it most. Because we operate in an active war zone, the needs remain immense, and every additional dollar allows us to reach more people. We cannot solve every need, but we guarantee maximum effectiveness for your contribution.
